I travelled to Walnut Creek, CA to photograph a fashion story for OYSTER MAGAZINE’s 100th issue, themed DREAM. I chose synchronized swimmers….they’re so elegant & focused & it’s so topically appropriate thanks to the Olympics!

Through my research I found the AMAZING Walnut Creek Aquanauts! While there, I was so compelled by their dedication to the sport & their physical & mental grace that I decided to make a short doc as well. I’m very proud of it!

It premiers today on Oyster’s site - I would link but it seems their site is DOWN RIGHT NOW?? IS IT THE VIDEO?? MOST LIKELY!!

But you can watch it here!! Or here!! Thank goodness…

In August Danielle traveled back to Port Orchard, WA to photograph best friends Torie & Sidney with their crew. She previously photographed them for Dazed + Confused in 2009 for a fashion story about emo scene kids in Portland, OR.
This month Twin Magazine features the story on the girls, as well as interviews with them, and on another Port Orchader, Kevin. They talk about love, religion, drugs, & the importance of friendship throughout it all.
Kevin also tells us about how gross vaginas are.

Danielle Levitt for Microsoft’s “This is the Year” back to school campaign

Danielle Levitt shot Microsoft’s new office 2010 campaign in a journalistic and narrative style. The client relied on her teen casting expertise to bring a natural feeling to the images. Microsoft office allows kids the greatest and latest tools they need to shine. Looks great! Look for the ads Martha Stewart Living, Time, Newsweek, & many more!
